WWP Encourages Veterans to Explore Entrepreneurship

Real estate and insurance professional Krishen Iyer has been at the head of several companies, including Iyer Health Shield. In addition to his work as a professional in Fresno’s commercial and residential real estate industry, now with Iyer CRSI, Krishen Iyer supports Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).

A major organization, WWP supports veterans through a range of complimentary services that would not be available through government assistance alone. One branch of assistance, Warriors to Work involves helping veterans make the transition back into civilian life. United States Army veteran Jeff Shuford worked with WWP during his transition and now owns Tech for Vets.

Mr. Shuford spoke at a recent WWP event intended to encourage veterans to consider entrepreneurship as a new career path. He expressed the ways in which his experience as a veteran was an asset within his business, giving him a story his clients could understand and to which they could relate.

WWP partnered with Florida State College of Jacksonville and the City of Jacksonville to host the event, which included other speakers who are veterans and entrepreneurs.
